Mission and Vision

Our Mission is to develop and provide innovative, responsive and quality behavioral and mental health care for FOCIS clients.

 

Our Vision for each FOCIS clients, after our efforts, is for them to be:

  • Independent thinkers

  • Compassionate and contributing community participants

  • Responsible and competent at making informed decisions

  • Able to manage their emotions and be empathic of others

  • Proficient at navigating family relationships and dynamics

  • Culturally competent and respectful of diversity

  • Skilled at interpersonal social, educational and work relationships

FOCIS Counseling Services, Inc. is a non-profit public organization primarily serving the greater Oklahoma City metropolitan statistical areas.

 

We are committed to serving Oklahoma's children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and families. Most of FOCIS services are provided in-home or at a community location for the convenience of our clients.

 

Our multidisciplinary team consists of licensed and experienced professionals dedicated to serving clients through both specialized and individual treatment programs. Each client receives a comprehensive assessment with specific goals in their treatment plan.

Teresa Greene-Ballard - M.Ed./LPC

Ms. Greene is the founder of FOCIS Counseling Services, Inc. She received her Masters of Education degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2003.

 

 

 

Alicia Price - LPC

Clinical Director/Therapist

Ms. Price received her Master’s Degree in Visual Rehabilitation Counseling from Langston University and her undergraduate studies from the University of Oklahoma. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral and Client Centered therapeutic methods. She has been working with an array of individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.

 

DelVon Gallagher - MS/LMFT

Corporate Compliance Officer/Therapist

Ms. Gallagher received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master's in Family Relations and Child Development with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.  She also is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist.

 

Advisory Board

 

Dustin Pyeatt (Chair)

 

     "I'm proud to serve on the Advisory Board for FOCIS Counseling because I not only believe in their mission, but I strongly believe in staff who live that mission every day".

 

FOCIS Dustin Pyeatt is currently the Director of Development and Communications for a local nonprofit. He is a well tenured and respected professional having worked in the field of public relations for the past 15 years. Mr. Pyeatt is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He has two bachelor's degrees, one in Political Science from East Central University in Ada, OK and another in Public Relations from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Juanita Giwa (Vice Chair)

 

     "It is an honor to be the Vice Chair of the FOCIS Advisory Board. I am impressed that FOCIS ensures clients and staff have opportunities to learn, question and share from one another enabling them to keep abreast of current trends and challenges".

 

Vice Chair Juanita Giwa received her Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Most of Ms. Giwa professional experience is in counseling, investigations and training in a variety of positions serving children and families in need, the mentally ill and victims of abuse. She currently works as a supervisor for Oklahoma's Abuse Hotline.

 

 

 

 

 

Karen Hylton (Treasurer)

 

     "I noticed many years ago that behavioral health issues are a severely unmet need for Oklahoma children and adults. It is very important to me to assist however I can in getting services to children at as early an age as possible so they can become healthy, functioning members of society".

 

Treasurer Karen Hylton is currently a DHS Programs Manager with 35 years of Adult and Family service experience. Ms. Hylton administers the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) portion of the Title V block grant, the State Supplemental Payment (SSP) program and the Medicaid eligibility programs for people categorized as aged, blind and disabled.

 

 

 

 

Benita Jackson (Secretary)

 

     "I am a new member of the FOCIS Advisory Board and have found working together to establish and support an open expression and exchange of ideas can enhance FOCIS's presence in the community. I also maintain an interest in the educational welfare of the children in Oklahoma's school systems, an interest I developed after teaching for 15 years in Arizona. I now am working as a Case Manager for T. Greene Management and have an opportunity to work with children receiving services. As Secretary, I will endeavor to work in concert with the FOCIS Advisory Board to achieve our goals".

 

Secretary Benita Jackson received her Master Degree in Early Childhood from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Bachelors Degree from Oklahoma Christian University.

 

 

 

 

Wayne Linzy (Board Member)

 

Teresa Greene-Ballard, CEO, is a voting member of the Advisory Board.

 

 

Dr. Sherleen Jackson, Clinical Director, is the FOCIS Liaison to the Advisory Board.

 


 

I am a 24 year law enforcement professional”.

 

Board Member Wayne Linzy is the newest member of the FOCIS Advisory Board. Mr. Wayne has extensive law enforcement experience and is currently employed by the Oklahoma State Department of Public Safety as a Highway Patrol Officer . Mr. Linzy's willingness to serve on the Advisory Board demonstrates his commitment to the service side of law enforcement. Wayne received his education from OSU Okmulgee and OSU Stillwater.

 

Mr. Linzy is also known in the law enforcement community for his excellent skills as a photographer. He is often called upon to photograph events and celebrations but also that which links to official police business.
